Plotting the Rays' homers at the Trop
Tropicana Field may not be the most home-run friendly ballpark in the majors, but it’s certainly one of the more unique. Where else can you clank a ball off a catwalk, have it bounce down to the centerfield turf and it count as a homer? That’s what happened to centerfielder B.J. Upton on May 21, hitting it off the c-ring in centerfield and getting awarded the home run after a five-minute instant replay delay. “I know the rules in here,” Upton quipped.
